Andy Cole has showered heaps of praise on West Ham striker Michail Antonio on Sky Sports.
The legendary Premier League striker is impressed by how Antonio has transformed himself as a striker in recent years.
He has praised his work ethic and suggests that he brings more to the side than just scoring goals.
“I have to admire [Antonio]. He wasn’t a striker. He played full back, right side of midfield, and now we need to talk about work ethics,” said Cole on Sky Sports Super Sunday.
“He is very very strong. Works extremely hard for his team. Brings his teammates into play. He bullies centre-halves.”
The 31-year-old is enjoying a superb campaign for the
Hammers this season.
He has scored seven goals and provided four assists in all
competitions so far, and West Ham need him to be on top of his game to get a
positive result on Sunday.
His impressive performance has earned rich praise from his manager and pundits, with Anton Ferdinand hailing him as a “fantastic” player.
The Hammers face Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium today and the game promises to be a cracking contest.
City are in red-hot form at the moment, but teams like Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Southampton have taken points off them this season already.
So, there’s a blueprint for Moyes ahead of the game – a compact defensive set up and hit City on the counter. Antonio is expected to play a major role today.
West Ham will head into this game with loads of confidence after beating Rapid Vienna in midweek to secure a passage to the knockout rounds of the Europa League.
In other West Ham news, the Irons held talks with the agents of this striker on Friday and £12.7million could seal the deal in January.
