West Ham are miles ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in terms of building their blueprint for the future, claim BBC duo Don Hutchison and Dion Dublin.
The Hammers beat Spurs in the London derby on Sunday by a 1-0 scoreline after Michail Antonio scored a brilliant second-half goal.
This saw David Moyes’ side finish the gameweek in the top four while Spurs are sixth with four losses already this season.
Comparing the two teams on Premier League’s Weekend Review, Hutchison said, “Look at where West Ham are going. They’re certainly above Spurs in terms of their project for the future.
“It’s astonishing if you look at how well they’ve done recently while Tottenham have plateaued completely.”
To which Dublin replied, “They’re certainly going places and are miles ahead of Spurs. Moyes has done a great job there.”
Tottenham had everything going for them when they reached the Champions League final back in 2019.
They had the investment and a new stadium to build a world-class squad, but they ended up doing a typical Spurs thing and messed it all up.
West Ham, on the other hand, looked down and out when Moyes arrived for his second stint, but he’s managed to change the perception of this club.
The Hammers are now in perfect shape to go on and establish themselves as one of the new top-six clubs.
The traditional top-six have been all over the place this season and Moyes’ side have already registered wins over two of them in all competitions.
Given how their team has been faring, the Hammers faithful have every reason to be optimistic about their side’s future.
