Aubameyang Stripped Of Captaincy...

Former Captain of Arsenal, Aubameyang, is now the FORMER Captain after being stripped of the Captaincy following his disciplinary breach.

In an unusually pointed statement, the club said:

Following his latest disciplinary breach last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain, and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham United…We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed.

Shadow Of His Former Glory…

It has to be said that Aubameyang signed his contract extension with many predicting he would become an Arsenal legend.

The stats however, show that Aubameyang has dropped off dramatically in performance statistics since putting pen to paper.

Whether Auba can rediscover the fire that once made him a World Class Striker remains to be seen. Arsenal fans have not been blind to his demise, and it is likely that few will see his demotion as an injustice..even though it is as a result of disciplinary breaches, not performance woes.

Who Will Take Over?

It is more than likely that a seasoned pro such as Lacazette will take over the Arsenal captaincy for the West Ham clash, however we feel that it is only a matter of time before an inspirational figure such as Ramsdale is appointed.

Ramsdale is a popular figure, however more importantly, he has the ability to direct, marshal, and inspire his team mates. This is exactly what the Gunners need, with the quiet, lead through performance? captaincy of Aubameyang having limited impact.
