Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara has made a bold claim about West Ham following the appointment of Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs announced the Italian as the club’s new boss on Tuesday, making a return to football following his departure from 2020/21 Serie A champions Inter Milan in the summer.

And, visibly ecstatic, O’Hara told Sky Sports that rivals such as Arsenal, Leicester and West Ham have reason to worry following the news.

“I can’t express how amazing this appointment is. He is a leader. (At) Chelsea, Inter Milan, Juve, (he was) absolutely fantastic,” he said.

“And now, what I will say, is Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham; they’re going to be worried, because Tottenham Hotspur are back now. They’re back with a vengeance, with a world-class manager at the helm.”

Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham – they’re going to be worried because Tottenham Hotspur are back!”

Jamie O’Hara is delighted with the appointment of Antonio Conte as #THFC head coach and has fired a warning to their Premier League rivals…

On their own path to success

The undeniable quality and insatiable hunger for glory that comes with appointing Conte has to be recognised – that is evident.

However, while Arsenal and Leicester both currently have their concerns – they both have frailties that look exploitable – West Ham seem to be cruising in an unpoppable bubble at the moment.

The Gunners and the Foxes may be worried about Spurs significantly overtaking them in the chase for European football as the season progresses, but the Hammers are part of the pack being chased.

And David Moyes’ men don’t look to be dropping off the boil any time soon, either. The Scotsman is doing an incredibly impressive job at the London Stadium, developing his squad into nothing less than an all-encompassing machine. The Hammers have won seven of their last eight fixtures in all competitions, most recently thrashing Aston Villa 4-1 away from home.

The arrival of Conte only adds to the depth in sheer class of the Premier League but, considering West Ham’s unbreakable spirit and perfectly executed collective performances that come week in week out, it’s not one that should truly ‘worry’ the Hammers.

In other West Ham news, Wayne Rooney has been impressed with West Ham under Moyes.
