Tony Cascarino has been blown away by the performances of West Ham man Aaron Cresswell this season.

The 31-year-old is a key member of David Moyes’ team and has played 12 league games this season, so it is no wonder that Cascarino has been impressed.

Speaking on talkSPORT before the Irons lost 1-0 to Wolves, Cascarino picked Cresswell out for specific praise and believes that he goes under the radar a little bit.

He said: “Talk about unsung heroes; I think Cresswell has been brilliant for them at left-back this year. I thought as he gets older, his place would be in jeopardy – it’s not.”

Cresswell continues to impress.

The 31-year-old has been at the London Stadium for a long time, and there are other players in the squad who can play at left-back.

However, Cresswell has made himself a key part of this Irons side, and it was nice to see Cascarino pick him out for individual praise because he doesn’t get that much.

The likes of Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen get a lot of praise from various pundits, but players like Cresswell slip under the radar.

However, on Saturday, the left-back was the Hammers’ best player with a seven WhoScored rating.

So even when the team don’t perform that well, Cresswell continually keeps his standards high, and his set-pieces are also a huge weapon.

Therefore, Cresswell deserves all of this praise coming his way, and long may it continue because he has been a key player for Moyes ever since the Scotsman returned to the London Stadium.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are chasing a striker from a Europa League club.
