Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham United to leave Aston Villa with a single point in the Premier League this weekend.
The BBC pundit has predicted that it will finish 1-1 at Villa Park, with the Irons expected to remain unbeaten.
David Moyes has transformed everything at the London Stadium, and is looking to secure top four football in the Premier League.
Writing in his BBC prediction column this week, Lawrenson hailed Moyes and made a big claim ahead of his 1000th game.
“West Ham boss David Moyes can do no wrong at the moment, beating Spurs last weekend and then knocking holders Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup in midweek,” he said.
“Moyes might not get things all his own way on Sunday though. I am expecting a much better performance from Aston Villa than we saw from them against Arsenal last week. Put it this way, they need one.
“This is Moyes’ 999th game as a manager. I’ve known him a long time and he is doing a top job. When he gets to 1,000 he might even buy me a drink – but then again why would he change the habit of a lifetime?”
It wouldn’t be the worst result, but we will surely be aiming for more.
Villa are in a real rut at this moment in time, conceding six goals in their previous two outings against Wolves and Arsenal.
The Irons have a much more potent attacking line at this moment in time, with the likes of Michail Antonio surely licking their lips.
Moyes will be all-out attack once again at Villa Park, but it is our defence making the headlines recently with clean sheets against Manchester City and Spurs.
Keeping a clean sheet will be 90% of the job done at Villa Park, and one goal could be all it takes, just as it was against Everton and Spurs.
In other West Ham United news, this is what Michail Antonio said to Cristian Romero in the win over Tottenham.
