West Ham are early favourites to sign Real Madrid attacker Isco with the Spanish giants keen on a January sale, according to Sunday People.
As reported in the print edition of the newspaper, [November 21, page 57], the 29-year-old is out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu, and contact has already been made with the Hammers ahead of the winter transfer window.
Isco prefers a move to England despite being offered to La Liga clubs, and Madrid want to sell him for £4million in January instead of losing him for nothing in the summer.
They may be open to a loan deal, provided West Ham will pay his whole wages, but the deal could depend on the London club’s move for Jesse Lingard as David Moyes is not expected to sign both attacking midfielders.
The Irons could be open to having the Manchester United man back having proven himself during his loan stint, but it remains to be seen if the Old Trafford outfit are keen to allow him to leave, knowing that he would be strengthening one of their direct competitors for the top-four.
Isco is no longer in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at Madrid and is very much available to be snapped up in January.
The former Golden Boy Award winner has struggled for relevance in the star-studded Madrid team in recent seasons, but a move to England and working under Moyes could help bring out the best in him again.
Having won 16 trophies with the La Liga giants since joining from Malaga in 2013, Isco knows all about picking up silverware, and the West Ham dressing room could do with such a figure.
He is one of the most creative players in the world on his day, and Moyes needs someone capable of improving his team’s attacking fortunes heading into the second half of the season.
Isco is far from finished having often shown flashes of his talent, and taking a punt on him as they did with Lingard last January could turn out well.
