West Ham United want to sign Monaco enforcer Benoît Badiashile in the January transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.
The French outlet have reported on their website that the representatives of the defender have already been contacted.
As well as that, the Irons have made contact with Monaco and could make an official move before the end of January.
West Ham are crying out for a new defender, but they won’t be alone in trying to seal this move.
Newcastle and Wolves are also interested, with both making contact of their own looking to bring Badiashile to the Premier League.
Having made more than 100 appearances at only 20-years-old, the star is set to be a “major player” in the January window.
Rob Newman could make a real name for himself if this transfer is one of his first at the London Stadium for David Moyes.
Wolves are said to have placed a £25million bid for Badiashile in the past, so Daniel Kretinsky and his team may need to go higher than that.
There would be no better statement of intent from the Czech investor alongside GSB than to pull off this signing.
Badiashile is one of the biggest sensations throughout Europe and has been described as “Amazing” in the past.
With Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma still out injured, leaving January without a new defender is not on the cards.
Craig Dawson is also on the wrong side of 30, meaning a new younger enforcer is needed – who better than Badiashile? You won’t find better at that age with that experience.
Get it done.
