David Moyes is putting together a financial package in the hope of West Ham United signing Manchester United playmaker Jesse Lingard permanently.
That’s according to the Mirror who claim this morning in their print edition (04/01) that Moyes hopes £10million will be enough to seal the deal.
It is reported that the Hammers are once again at the front of the queue for their former loan star, who is in the final six months of his contract at Old Trafford.
Moyes is hopeful that the £10million offered will be more than enough for a player who could leave for nothing in the summer.
With Newcastle, AC Milan and Barcelona also said to be interested, West Ham look to have made their move early in the window.
The newspaper insists that another bid is “poised”, meaning we could assume that it could be lodged at any given moment.
Get it done?
This is one of those stories that will never disappear until Lingard finally makes up his mind over his next move.
West Ham are said to have been at the front of the queue ever since his loan ended at the London Stadium last season.
Surely, if Lingard wanted a permanent move, it would have happened by now and it just looks as though Moyes is chasing shadows.
If it is Manchester United who are dragging their feet though, getting a deal done could see him explode in the second half of the season, just as he did last time around.
Moyes has never shied away from the fact he is a huge fan of the playmaker, and he tends to get the best from these types of players – this is certainly one to keep an eye on.
