David Moyes wants to bring someone with energy to West Ham and try to replicate Jesse Lingard’s impact last season.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference [Evening Standard], the Scotsman outlined exactly what he wants to do in January.

Earlier this year, the Irons brought Lingard in on loan, and he was unbelievable.

Therefore, you can see why Moyes wants to replicate that again this time around.

He said: “I would like to try and see if I could add bits of quality where you could say, ‘Oh wow, he’s going to threaten the team’. Last year, bringing Jesse, folk probably thought he’d not done a lot at Man United not played, and he came in and gave us an incredible lift.

“I’ve got to keep looking for the players who can give us the burst of energy which we need to maybe keep us going.”

Clear and decisive message from Moyes.

So, it is very clear what Moyes wants to add to his team, and you would have to say he is spot on.

If the Irons could add that little bit of extra oomph, they might just be able to make a sustained challenge on the top four as well as the Europa League.

Therefore, January is an important window for the Hammers, and one player who would almost certainly provide them with that energy would be Lingard.

He has been heavily linked with a move back to the London Stadium in January, and it is a move that would make a lot of sense [ExWHUemployee].

He has barely played this season, his contract expires next summer, and he was fantastic for the Irons last year.

If Moyes wants energy and someone he knows can do well, he should look no further than Lingard, and this could be a transfer to keep your eye on in January.
