Huddersfield Town manager Carlos Corberan has concerns about the future of West Ham starlet Mipo Odubeko.

In an interview with Yorkshire Live, the Spaniard said that the 19-year-old has demonstrated some “frustration”.

However, whether or not the Hammers will recall Odubeko or not is not clear, even though his appearances for the Terriers this season are rare.

Coroberan said:

“He’s a player that for me still needs the adaptation process to compete in the Championship…For me now, after a little bit of frustration that can appear in your career when you have some expectation and after the reality is different … for me, he’s in the process to manage well this type of situation…Being honest, I don’t know because these are things that do not depend on me…What I’d like is to have him here in the club. It’s true that [you’ve not seen] him, and it’s normal that people are asking why he’s not been on the pitch, but our commitment with any player we’re working with is to develop them because, for me, it doesn’t make sense to just give minutes, it’s important to see the development of the player…We have a lot of commitment because when West Ham send us a player, our highest commitment is with the player, to develop him. That’s exactly what the club wants.”

Odubeko’s future still unknown.

Since joining Huddersfield in the last summer transfer window, Odubeko has appeared in only four appearances in the Championship.

This constitutes a miserly 64 minutes on the pitch, not the amount he would have signed for, and he will certainly be hoping for more game time before the next transfer window in January.

If not, we could expect to see the Hammers recall Odubeko and send him out on loan elsewhere.

This move was supposed to have allowed the 19-year-old to an impression and prove his worth in the 2nd tier of English Football.

However, chances are not guaranteed andOdubeko must also prove that he deserves to play in the starting eleven.

According by what Corberan said, he is not a write off yet and this will hopefully inspire him to prove his worth.
