West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur is set to go ahead later today (December 22) despite there being a Covid-19 scare in the Hammers camp.

According to ExWHUemployee, one key Irons player has been rumoured to have contracted the virus.

There also are reports that few other players and staff members are also suffering from Covid, but that is unlikely to stop the game from taking place.

Ex wrote, “Rumours are circulating that we have a number of players and staff currently suffering from Covid. This could affect the selection for Spurs with at least one key player rumoured to have it.

“The game against Spurs is still expected to go ahead despite this concern.”

Big news

While Ex hasn’t confirmed it, there isn’t even an outright denial of a key player suffering from Covid.

Usually, whenever things are misreported to this extent, there is someone who comes out with a correction.

However, that has not happened and the lineup against Spurs could offer a decent indication as to who that player may be.

The Hammers are already dealing with injury concerns at the back so if it’s a defender, then David Moyes would be fuming.

This would mean that the said player would miss at least the next two games, if not more, which is big news.

It also shows just how important it is to have a deep squad and the board have to prioritise getting new players through the door in January.

In other West Ham news, the club have made an approach to sign a ‘Terrific’ international ace and a January move is on the cards
