An unnamed West Ham player has contracted the virus and is set to miss the game against Tottenham Hotspur later today (December 22).

David Moyes has thus far failed to confirm whether there’s any positive case in his squad, but ExWHUemployee claims that there is a key player who has contracted the virus.

He believes that he will miss the game against Spurs due to it, even though the announcement hasn’t been made yet.

On Tuesday, Ex mentioned a Covid Case and issued an update reiterating his claim despite what Moyes said.

He wrote, “One key player rumoured to have it. Despite many of you saying Moyes has said it’s only staff, we believe that at least one player will miss today’s game as a result of Covid.”

There is a good chance that Ex is aware of who the player is, but isn’t revealing it as it would give Spurs the opportunity to alter their plans.

That’s the reason why Moyes has been coy about it and once the lineups are out, he can go out and say who it is.

While it could have been any player, the fact that it is a “key” name makes things scary for Hammers fans.

The likes of Lukasz Fabianski, Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek and Michail Antonio could be considered as key, and as things stand, it could be any of them.

We’re hoping that the absence of the said player does not take away from the spectacle that his quarter-final is set to provide.

However, we’re still optimistic that the Hammers can get the desired result and book their place in the semi-finals.

In other West Ham news, the club have made an approach to sign a ‘Terrific’ international ace and a January move is on the cards
