Massive three points

West Ham took an early lead inside five minutes when Reds goalkeeper, Alisson, under pressure from Angelo Ogbonna, flapped at Pablo Fornals’ corner. The goal was given after a VAR check.

Liverpool restored parity when Trent Alexander-Arnold curled home a superb strike after interchanging a short free-kick with Mohamed Salah.

Craig Dawson came close to scoring but only managed to hit the woodwork with a header from a corner. However, Fornals gave the lead after he was slipped through on goal.

The London Stadium was absolutely rocking, and the atmosphere became electrifying after Kurt Zouma made it 3-1 with a header.

Divock Origi pulled one back while Sadio Mane missed a glorious opportunity late on. But, what a team performance this has been!

We are third in the Premier League table, and as Roshane Thomas, the Athletic journalist, rightly points out, there’s something special going on at the moment.

In other West Ham news, Jarrod Bowen could be in line for a move to Liverpool.
