West Ham have handed full European debuts to five players in their Europa League clash against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.

Harrison Ashby, Jamal Baptiste, Aji Alese, Emmanuel Longelo and Sonny Perkins are the five players who have never started a European game for the Hammers.

David Moyes knows that there’s little riding on this game so is open to experimenting with his academy and fringe players.

Good side

Apart from the five full debutants, the usual fringe players have been handed their chance to prove why they deserve first-team berths.

The likes of Pablo Fornals and Nikola Vlasic are two players whose futures aren’t in doubt but would like to be playing more.

However, given the fact that Manuel Lanzini has starred of late, both have been kept out of the eleven.

Should the Hammers sign Jesse Lingard, the fight for places is going to intensify further and it will be interesting to see how it all transpires.

These truly are good times for Hammers fans and Moyes will be delighted by what he’s achieved so far at the club.

Hopefully, the good times keep rolling and they try to go as far as they can in the Europa League.

A game against Barcelona is surely a tempting prospect, isn’t it?
