David Moyes has made three changes to his West Ham side as they welcome Leeds United to the London Stadium in the FA Cup.

The Hammers have a midweek Premier League game to consider with Norwich City the visitors to East London on Wednesday (12 January).

Marcelo Bielsa is yet to win an FA Cup game with Leeds so West Ham will be confident that his team can get past the Whites and into the hat for the fourth round.

Lukasz Fabianski is replaced by Alphonse Areola in goal as Ryan Fredericks takes Vladimir Coufal’s place at right-back.

Fringe player Nikola Vlasic replaces Said Benrahma who is now at the African Cup on Nations.

Chance for a Trophy

The FA Cup offers a much-appreciated break from Premier League action but the Hammers have been dealt a tough first assignment.

While the league table suggests West Ham will be the favourites to beat Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds, everyone knows that league placing becomes irrelevant in the cup.

Just yesterday we saw Premier League sides Newcastle and Burnley knocked out by lower league opposition and sixth tier Kidderminster beat Championship Reading.

Moyes is well aware of the threat posed by Leeds and selecting a strong side doesn’t come as a surprise.

West Ham fans will be pleased to see the FA Cup being taken seriously as it presents a genuine chance for more silverware to be added to the trophy cabinet.

In other West Ham news, the club are keen on bringing this Ligue 1 midfielder to the London Stadium, but face competition.
