West Ham are set to open talks early with Jesse Lingard to prise him away from Manchester United, according to ExWHUemployee.

He chose to stay put at Old Trafford amid promises that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would give him game time.

However, he hasn’t featured regularly for the Red Devils, and appears to be on his way out in January.

With his deal expiring in the summer and him being no closer to signing an extension, the club may look to cash in on him in the winter.

The fact that the Hammers are likely to open talks early with him has delighted a number of their Super Fans on Facebook.

Here’s what they said:

Get him ASAP

The Hammers waited too long in the summer and by then Lingard seemed to have made up his mind to stay.

He’s certainly not going to fall for the same lie the second tie and now has a powerful hand in negotiations, given he could leave for free at the end of the season.

If West Ham want to do a deal, which they seem to, then it makes sense to begin negotiations early.

Once the window opens, they can get the formalities sorted out and he could arrive at the club as early as the first week of January.

In other West Ham news, an attacker the Hammers want to sign has been left out of the matchday squad, potential January move seems to be on the cards
