West Ham will travel to Belgium to face Genk in the Europa League clash on Thursday.

The Hammers are in red-hot form at the moment, and they have picked up all three wins from their opening three Europa League games thus far.

David Moyes’ side are one step closer to moving to the knock-out rounds, and a victory against Genk will make sure they not only progress through to the next round but also emerge as group leaders.

Ahead of the match, Tomas Soucek has provided an injury update on the West Ham squad. Vladimir Coufal returned to action against Tottenham in the previous game, and he is fit to play against Genk.

Likewise, both Ryan Fredericks and Alex Kral are back in the training as well. Basically, Moyes now has a fully fit squad to choose from.

“Cuf (Vladimír Coufal) played his first match after an injury against Tottenham, he ran for the last eight minutes,” Soucek told Gol. “He seems to be fine, which is very important. It is very difficult for any player when he cannot get on and help the team.

“I’m also glad that he came back, and I believe that he will get back to his former form in a few days. Fortunately, his injury was not long enough to affect him physically or in his head. He is also ready to play for West Ham and the Czech national team.

“Alex [Kral] has also returned to the team, he normally trains with us. I believe that he will get back quickly and will be ready for the next matches in the club and in the national team. The ten-day quarantine was very unpleasant for him.”

Big week

With no major injury worries ahead of the trip, it will be interesting to see how Moyes sets his team up.

He will probably drop Michail Antonio again, giving him the much-needed rest ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool.

The last time when the two sides met, West Ham won 3-0 against
Genk at home. So, Moyes will definitely make some changes to the squad.

At the same time, the Hammers must ensure they finish their
job and secure a smooth passage to the next round.

All eyes will be on Sunday in the Premier League when we face Liverpool. Following our 4-1 win against Aston Villa and Liverpool managing only a draw, a victory against Jurgen Klopp’s side would ensure we move ahead of them in the league table prior to the international break.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are set to speed up contract talks for one player after showing strong form.
