West Ham will be looking to make it two wins in a row when they face Crystal Palace on Saturday in the Premier League, but Paul Merson finds it hard to pick a winner between the two.

The popular pundit suggests that both sides are evenly matched in terms of quality, and has predicted a 1-1 draw.

The fixture could see Declan Rice – should he feature – making his 150th appearance for the club in all competitions.

Merson wrote for SportsKeeda: “Both teams are coming on the back of fantastic results in the Premier League, so this could be a great game at Selhurst Park.

“People might give me a lot of stick for this, but I don’t think there is a lot between these two sides in terms of quality.

“Their league positions might suggest otherwise, but a closer look at Palace’s results this season will tell you that they’ve been incredibly unlucky. A lot of things went against them, so I believe they should be higher up the Premier League table.

“I can’t separate these two sides at the moment so I’m going for a 1-1 draw.”

Massive game

After a wretched run of form, West Ham finally returned to winning ways after beating Watford 4-1 at Vicarage Road in their last game.

It was their first win in six games in all competitions, and it came on the back of three consecutive defeats.

Not only the pressure had been lifted but the win pulled them back into the mix for the top four race once again.

It’s time for the Hammers to build the momentum, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur all vying for the elusive fourth spot.

Merson has a point here. Crystal Palace have played some fantastic football under Patrick Vieira this season, and they are an entertaining team to watch.

The Eagles picked up their second win in eight games on Tuesday when they won 3-0 against Norwich City.

Selhurst Park could be an intimidating place when the home side gets going, but West Ham should have enough quality to seal all three points.
