West Ham News

West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur will probably try again for Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard in the next transfer window too.

Jesse Lingard was a hit at London Stadium, that much is sure, and according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, he is open to a return to the Hammers, but there is a problem.

And, in another development, according to the Manchester Evening News:

Newcastle working on loan deal to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester United

However, it seems that Newcastle are linked with just about everyone at the moment, and with strong financial backing, those rumours could well be true. However, according to Alex Crook, Lingard holds West Ham close to his heart. This is what he had to say via his Twitter Account:

#NUFC offer for Lingard revealed by @samuelluckhurst is intriguing. He’d rather go back to #WHUFC but #MUFC cannot contemplate strengthening a top 4 rival. Surely better to go out and play rather than sit rotting? West Ham and Spurs interest will still be there in the summer.

No Time Better Than Now For Lingard

Lingard who is approaching 30, is clearly not going to be a big cog in the Manchester United wheel. And, as he gets older, injuries and opportunities could further inhibit his playing time. Despite this, Lingard is a player who TalkSport host Adrian Durham describes as “phenomenal”. Is the hype justified?

The England attacker certainly endeared himself to Hammers fans when he scored nine goals and provided five assists in only 16 games last season for David Moyes’ side, a result which left West Ham fans hoping that would lead to a permanent move to London Stadium.

Even though a permanent move seemed the logical choice, he decided to stay at United and compete for a starting spot…a choice which hasn’t as yet been a roaring success.

Now, he finds that he is simply back to the status quo that he had prior to his spell at West Ham…He will hope to remedy that situation asap, and his desire, it seems, is to go where the love is….
