Roshane Thomas has told West Ham ace, Jarrod Bowen, to be ready for an England call-up after scoring against Aston Villa.

The Athletic reporter followed on from claims made by the Evening Standard that he was on Gareth Southgate’s radar by claiming that he could be called up for the games against Albania and San Marino.

Bowen has been in sublime form for the Irons this season and has scored three goals and provided three assists in all competitions.

His overall displays in the Premier League have earned him a WhoScored rating of 7.42, which is very good.

Thomas said: “The West Ham winger has been on Southgate’s radar and was named in the provisional squad for England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary last month.

“Although Bowen failed to make the final cut, he showed in West Ham’s emphatic 4-1 win over Aston Villa why it surely won’t be long before he accompanies Declan Rice for international duty at St George’s Park.

“It is a sign of Bowen’s progress that Southgate is an admirer and, if the England manager is intent on selecting players in form for this month’s qualifiers against Albania and San Marino, Bowen should keep his phone on.”

Good stuff from Bowen.

It seems that international recognition is not that far away for Bowen, who has had an incredible rise since swapping Hull City for the Irons.

He is now a key player in David Moyes’ side and hasn’t missed a game this season as he seems determined to play as much as possible.

The 24-year-old looks to have a huge future ahead of him at the London Stadium, and he definitely deserves to be called up by England and given a chance to shine on the international stage.

Given that England play San Marino and Albania in the next set of fixtures, this could be the ideal time to give Bowen a game.

There are many options on the wings for the Three Lions, but if Southgate is picking on current form, Bowen should be in this next England squad.

So, it will be interesting to see what happens, but the noises sound positive.
