“It’s a great club to be at and unless he’s going to go to Man City, maybe Man United or whatever. He’s been at Chelsea as a kid so I think that’d be a difficult one for them, to spend the money having given him away when he was young.
“So I think he’s in a great place at West Ham and I’d like to see him stay there long term. He’s in the England team so it’s not holding him back at all and West Ham look like a team who are on the up.
Rice has to remain loyal to the Irons, at least for the next few seasons. There is a real feel-good factor around the club and our most influential player leaving could be a real blow to not only the team but the fans’ morale which is vital at the London Stadium.
Redknapp is spot on in terms of Rice being in the England team, something that players may have used as an excuse to leave in the past. Gareth Southgate likes to pick players based on form so if he wants to solidify a spot at next year’s World Cup he should stay and continue to shine.
