David Moyes has confirmed that West Ham have received only a loan offer for Darren Randolph in the January window.
The veteran goalkeeper appeared set to move to Aston Villa this month [Sami Mokbel, Daily Mail], but the Hammers had pulled the plug on the deal.
Moyes has said that he won’t sell him on loan, and there’s no concrete offer for him at the moment.
The Hammers boss said after West Ham’s 2-0 win v Norwich on Wednesday, as quoted by Football London: “Yes, I have no intention of letting Darren go, we have had no offer.
“So as far as I’m concerned, all we received was a loan. I can’t see why I would ever let that Darren Randolph go on loan. There’s nothing any more than that. So that’s a situation.”
It is a strange decision from West Ham and it doesn’t improve Randolph’s situation.
The 34-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at the club, and unless there are big injuries to Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola, he is unlikely to feature again.
The “brilliant” goalkeeper is merely occupying space at the London Stadium.
The Irish goalkeeper has a contract at the club till 2023 and it is indeed baffling as to why the loan deal was rejected.

It remains to be seen if clubs in England or abroad make an approach for him this month, but as it stands, he is set to stay at the club without making any significant contribution.
