No Time To Die – For The Royals
Given recent turmoil in the Royal Family, it was great to see the Royals out in force for the premiere, with two generations to watch Craig’s Swanson as Bond. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were joined by Prince Charles and Camilla.
No Time To Die – Plot
So, here is how the story goes…A youthful Madeleine Swann(Léa Seydoux) is a witness to the slaying of her mother by Lyutsifer Safin, a terrorist. Swann shoots the terrorist as an act of retribution. In an attempt to dispose of the body of the terrorist, Safin wakes up, resulting in her fleeing to a frozen lake, which she falls through. Safin shocks Swann because, instead of sealing her fate, instead rescues her from an icy death.
Later on, we come upon Bond and Madeleine in Italy, the place where he’s been convinced to visit in order to seethe grave of the woman who continues to trouble him.Whilst in Italy, they are attacked by SPECTRE assassins during a drive in Bond’s Aston Martin. Although the pair overcome their pursuers, they soon separate after Bond accuses Swann of betraying him to the organisation.
This accusation of betrayal by Bond then leads to a repeat of the “Skyfall” arc meaning that Bond goes off the grid for five years. However, you can’t keep a good man down, especially when there is a film to be made! So, we find Bond resurfacing after the stealing of a weaponized virus that is specific to a person’s DNA. So, with Bond back on board albeit with him at first being aligned with the CIA through Felix Leiter and a new face named Logan Ash (Billy Magnussen). Bond finds that, even though he is again reactivated, he has been replaced by a new 007 named Nomi (Lashana Lynch).
Not only has James been replaced as 007, but he has trust issues with M (Ralph Fiennes). Why does Bond have trust problems with M? He is convinced that M knows more than he’s letting on about the new threat (a fairly safe assumption), however, Bond’s still has Q (Ben Whishaw) and Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) to help him discreetly.
