Arsenal leapfrogged West Ham to fourth place in the Premier League following 2-0 defeat at The Emirates.

After a blistering start to the season, David Moyes
side have struggled winning only one of their last six in the Premier League.

Former Arsenal player, Ian Wright, was quick to single out one man as the reason why West Ham currently find themselves struggling.

Speaking to Optus Sport, the former striker said: “He needs to hold those and let people come support him,” Wright said (as quoted by Football 365). “That’s one of the inexperience of being a centre-forward.

“He’s very good at it but in these instances, you think to yourself okay just turn now and let people come out and keep it. This is where West Ham are falling short because he’s not actually helping the team at all.”

Despite the Jamaican powerhouse having an enthralling start to the campaign, scoring six goals and registering three assists in his first six Premier League games of the season. Since then, the striker has only managed one goal and assist respectively as West Ham fight to get back to winning ways.

Irons fans will be delighted with where they currently sit in the table as well as their impressive and yet to be finished runs in the EFL Cup and Europa league.

However, what will worry them is dropping to Wolves, Brighton and Burnley in close succession; teams the East Londoners would hope to beat to continue their empathic start to the 2021/22 campaign.

They would be provided with a huge boost if they can get their talisman – Antonio – firing again, to get them out of this December lull.

In other West Ham United news, Liverpool want to sell West Ham target for £15m.
