Gabby Agbonlahor believes West Ham are the “perfect” club for a takeover.

Sparta Prague owner Daniel Kretinsky is close to purchasing a minority stake in the Irons that could lead to a full takeover [Sky Sports] , and Agbonlahor supports the move.

He also believes that the Irons are now the second-biggest club in London, only behind Chelsea, and they are now above the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “If I [were] a billionaire, I would be thinking the club’s in the perfect place.

“Great squad of players, great manager.

“They are looking a real outfit now, West Ham, and apart from Chelsea, for me, they are the biggest club in London.

“They’ve [overtaken] Arsenal, they’ve [overtaken] Spurs.”

Big claims from Agbonlahor.

Now, these are big claims from the former Aston Villa striker, and we can imagine that many fans of the other clubs won’t be too happy with these comments.

However, if you look at how they have done over the past year, then you can see where he is coming from.

Last season, the Irons finished above both Arsenal and Tottenham, while this season, they are above them both again.

Now, it is still early days for the Irons this season, but they have already beaten Spurs in the league.

So, you can totally see where Agbonlahor is coming from, and it is up to the other London clubs to step up and catch up with the Irons because they do look like a serious side these days.

If this takeover goes through, then the Hammers will be in an even better position, and the future looks very bright for the Irons.

In other West Ham news, a report has revealed what will happen to the fans who invaded the pitch on Wednesday.
