West Ham are set to face Burnley in the Premier League at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the match, Sky Sportsbetting expert Lewis Jones has predicted a 2-1 win for the Hammers.

The Clarets are struggling badly at the moment, having failed to win in their last four games.

The Hammers have lost just two of their last 18 games away from home against teams that finished ninth or lower according to last season’s table, winning 12 of those 18, including beating Burnley at Turf Moor last season,” wrote Jones for Sky Sports.

“That was a dominant showing by David Moyes’ men who registered 22 shots on goal, creating an expected goals figure of 2.33 in the 2-1 victory.

“And they hit those heights despite having Declan Rice missing through injury. Moyes’ boys are perfectly equipped to get the job done in these types of games against physically focused teams like Burnley. They can match them, and then punish them with their array of quality in the final third.”

Big game

David Moyes has admitted today (10 December) that they have been poor in the previous two games prior to the Chelsea game.

The Hammers lost against Wolverhampton Wanderers and
Manchester City prior to the Chelsea fixture, and they will be looking to avoid
three straight defeats away from home.

The 3-2 victory against Chelsea will have given the Hammers a big lift in the race for the top four.

There is a general perception that the top three places are
likely to be contested by Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, while the
fourth spot is up for grabs.

West Ham till now have done remarkably well to hold on to
that position, but with Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal all vying for
that elusive Champions League spot, the Hammers must ensure they maintain consistency
throughout.

The Hammers won 2-1 against Burnley at Turf Moor in their last visit, and they will hope for another similar result on Sunday.
