West Ham United star Pablo Fornals was heavily involved as Spain eased past Greece by one goal to nil on Thursday.
Coming off the bench, it was an impressive cameo after Pablo Sarabia had scored the only goal of the game.
It was the fitness of Fornals that caught the eye the most though, with Tony Gale blown away by how he never stopped running.
Speaking live on Sky Sports last night, Gale was stunned by the Irons star as he came off the bench in Greece.
“I don’t think there’s a fitter man at West Ham,” he said.
“He’s a workaholic, his work rate is phenomenal.”
That is the first thing that David Moyes asks from every single one of his players, and it appears that doesn’t stay at club level.
Fornals epitomises that at the London Stadium, and that is getting him recognition on the international stage from Spain and Luis Enrique.
The playmaker was sensational scoring and assisting in the 3-2 win over Liverpool on Sunday, and he was rewarded with a cameo in Greece last night.
Gale singled him out despite the massive names on the show around him, and that is a testament to him and everything he has been working for.
We are loving all of this success, and the fact that it extends into the international break makes it all that little more bearable.
