West Ham visit Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday and will be looking to resume Premier League action with a bang.

Managers dread the international break as players sometimes return to the club with injuries, and Hammers fans panicked when Declan Rice pulled out of the England squad due to illness.

That is nothing to worry about, though, as Football.London claims the 22-year-old midfielder is expected to be available for the trip to the Midlands, with the 13-day break set to give him a chance to make a full recovery.

Good news

Rice was not available to help the Three Lions seal World Cup qualification, missing both games against Albania and San Marino as a result of his illness, but that is not likely to keep him away from resuming training with his West Ham teammates in the coming days.

Having played a lot of games for club and country since the campaign started, and barely getting a break after the European Championships, the Hammers ace badly needed a break, and his illness afforded him one.

Rice should be coming back refreshed ahead of a busy run of scheduled fixtures from now until New Year, and that should keep him going.

He has been involved in every minute of the Premier League season so far, weighing in with a goal and three assists, and his impressive individual campaign should continue against Wolves this weekend.

David Moyes needs one of his most influential players available, and he would have been worried sick after he pulled out of national team duty.
