West Ham will aim to sell Andriy Yarmolenko in the January transfer window, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Ukrainian’s future at the London Stadium has been in
doubt for some time now, as he has played just 52 minutes of football in the Premier
League this season.

Yarmolenko’s contract at West Ham expires next summer, meaning January will be the club’s last chance to receive a transfer fee for him.

Sharing an update on the winger, Claret and Hugh’s latest
post read: “We can confirm that the Hammers would be more than willing to let
Yarmolenko go if a bid were to be forthcoming!

“He remains a big earner at the London Stadium and getting
him off the wage bill is a priority in the next transfer window.”

The report adds that the Hammers are hopeful that Genoa will
make an offer for Yarmolenko, as former Ukraine national team boss Andriy
Shevchenko was appointed manager of the Serie A side earlier this month.

It comes after another former Ukraine boss, Yozhef Szabo, told Sport.ua that Shevchenko wants to buy Yarmolenko in January.

Exit inevitable

Yarmolenko is not part of David Moyes’s plans going forward,
so a January exit appears inevitable and allows West Ham to receive a fee,
albeit a small one, for the 32-year-old.

The Ukrainian has started just one Premier League game since
the start of last season and has not scored a league goal since July 2020.

There is perhaps one argument for keeping Yarmolenko until the
end of the season and that is to provide cover for Michail Antonio upfront, but
the Hammers will hope to address that issue in the January window anyway.

A move to Genoa would suit all partiesWest Ham get Yarmolenko
off the books, Shevchenko succeeds in bringing in a transfer target and the winger
gets to work under a manager he knows well.

In other West Ham news, Danny Murphy has commented on the transfer speculation around one Hammers ace.
