Tony Gale slammed West Ham defender Craig Dawson for making a needless foul in the dying stages of the Wolves clash on Saturday.
The Hammers lost the game 1-0 but had a few chances to restore parity on the day.
In the second half, they had a chance from a free kick, but instead of attempting to win a potential second ball, the defender made a foul that led to the referee blowing his whistle instantly.
Speaking on the Premier League’s world feed, Gale, a Sky Sports pundit said, “Silly foul from Dawson. It’s like they’re panicking. He was never going to get there.”
Dawson came in place for the injured Angelo Ogbonna, who has been ruled out for the season with an ACL injury.
If the Hammers do not sign a centre-back in January then they will have to rely either on him or Issa Diop.
Dawson, who started the season before Kurt Zouma joined, put it in a series of hapless performances for West Ham.
However, David Moyes still seems to rate him higher than Diop, which is baffling, to say the least.
We think that it’s time for him to give the Frenchman an extended run in the side and then make a final decision.
Starting Dawson could lead to the Irons dropping more needless points like they did on Saturday.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have been handed a boost to complete January signing after a recent update
