Lewis Jones has backed West Ham United to pick up another three points against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

The Sky Sports expert has predicted that it will finish 2-0 to the Irons, who travel to Villa Park in excellent form.

Dean Smith’s men have shipped six goals in their last two games, compared to the Hammers who have been in brilliant defensive form.

Writing in his Sky Sports prediction column this afternoon, Jones also hailed Declan Rice as the best midfielder in the Premier League right now.

“A repeat of the Arsenal showing here and West Ham, who are a better team than the Gunners according to all known metrics, will roll over Villa,” he wrote.

“As David Moyes said after the win over Spurs, he expects them to be challenging for the top-four this season and the performance metrics suggest he’s right to have that lofty target.

“A statistic backed up by all the expected goals data. West Ham, helped by having arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League on current form in Declan Rice, are among the elite, yet, they are not priced up like it by the markets in games such as this one.”

Form.

Looking at the form table in the Premier League, there is a clear winner.

Aston Villa are also struggling massively in defence, and that could be a real boost for the Hammers this weekend.

Michail Antonio and his attacking reinforcements will be licking their lips at the prospect of this, but we have to keep our guard up.

Villa have spent a lot of money after losing Jack Grealish, and that has delivered many attacking reinforcements.

Another clean sheet will be critical, and if that happens, three points should be a given looking at our attack.

In other West Ham United news, this is what Michail Antonio said to Cristian Romero in the win over Tottenham.
