West Ham United have a number of their star players away on international duty this week and next.

It all started on Thursday with Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal starting for the Czech Republic against Kuwait.

Watching live on Sky Sports, the unnamed commentator was thrilled by Soucek in particular as the game went on.

Speaking live-on-air on the red button this evening, the commentator was stunned by the sheer threat held by the likes of Soucek during every single set-piece situation.

“He has already shown through his career, what a potent weapon he is attacking set pieces in the air,” he said.

It shouldn’t be so much of a shock to anyone now.

West Ham are easily one of the best sides in the world from set-pieces, and it doesn’t even matter if you know what they’re going to do.

Knowing is one thing, but stopping it is another and Soucek is one of the biggest weapons of them all.

His success last season means he has been shackled more in the Premier League this time around, but that has opened up the path to goal for the likes of Kurt Zouma.

It doesn’t change on the international stage either, with Soucek a constant threat in the final third for the Kuwait defence.

Coufal also delivered an assist from the right, which is a positive sign that he is nearing 100% in his bid to regain his place from the impressive Ben Johnson.
