Carlton Palmer backs Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking midfielder Dele Alli to be a success at West Ham amid January transfer links.

Eurosport reported in December that the Hammers were keen on signing the England international from their local rivals.

Palmer, who’s a pundit at Sky Sports, believes that David Moyes could bring the best out of him.

He told Give Me Sport, “Could David Moyes get the best out of him? I’m sure he could do.”

Decent option

There were many eyes rolled when the Hammers brought Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United.

He seemed like someone who was past his prime and is taking a step down just for some game time.

However, the way he improved the West Ham side was incredible and there’s nothing to suggest that Alli will not do the same.

His former boss Jose Mourinho labelled him “phenomenal” [Mirror] in 2019 and he could deliver such performances again for the Hammers.

It remains to be seen if West Ham actually pursue a move for the Spurs attacker this January.

Lingard still appears to be the first choice but we would not mind seeing Alli in an Irons kit if a move for the Manchester United player doesn’t work out.
