A West Ham fan has been arrested in connection with a viral video showing chanting before the Genk game.

Sky Sports claim that a 55-year-old man has been arrested after footage emerged of an anti-semitic chant aimed at an orthodox Jew emerged on social media.

The chant is supposedly about Tottenham, but it is aimed solely at this one man, and it seems as if the police have taken action.

This is good to see and it once again, shows that racism from football fans won’t be tolerated anymore.

Good response from the authorities.

Earlier on Friday, David Moyes called out the video and revealed his and the club’s stance on such actions.

Now the police have stepped in, and you would think that the Irons fans involved in the chant face some serious consequences.

There is no room for this sort of behaviour in the modern day and age, so it is fantastic to see it being publicly called out by Moyes and also to see some proper police action.

Now, it remains to be seen exactly what happens, but there are plenty of Irons fans who are easily identifiable on the video, so you would think that West Ham and the police should be able to find those responsible and take the right action.

We don’t need fans like this involved in the game, so the quicker the authorities identify them and punish them, the better for all involved.

In other West Ham news, some Hammers fans have been slammed by David Baddiel after that footage went viral.
