Natalie Sawyer predicts West Ham and Liverpool to share the spoils at the London Stadium on Sunday evening.
The broadcaster, speaking in a video shared on the Boyle Sports Twitter account, is fascinated by the Irons under David Moyes.
“I’m really intrigued by this one,” Sawyer said. “I find West Ham really intriguing this season because now they’ve got Europa League football, there is that added competition, but they seem to be coming through it, week in, week out most times, so it’s not going to be easy for Liverpool to come to the London Stadium.
“Liverpool’s defence will have to be at their best.
“I think this is going to be a goal-fest, possibly a 2-2 draw.
“I just feel as though there’s just something about the London Stadium fans, the crowd, the roar, that’s spurring them on right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if West Ham take the lead in this one with Michail Antonio getting on the scoresheet.”
Times have changed
The current atmosphere in the London Stadium is a far cry from previous years.
The discontent among West Ham supporters towards the owners has often created a toxic atmosphere within the ground as fans rally against GSB.
They’ve not been helped by matters on the pitch, with teams that have often flattered to deceive.
But under Moyes, the Irons are transformed.
They currently reside in the Europa League, but there are ambitions of Champions League qualification after the torrid start to the season made by clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The visit of Liverpool on Sunday afternoon is sure to create a lively atmosphere within the stadium, and there’s more than an outside chance of picking up a positive result against the Reds.
In other West Ham news, Jurgen Klopp has poured praise on this Irons star amid heavy transfer links to Liverpool.
