Andre Ayew has been blown away by West Ham striker Michail Antonio.

Speaking exclusively to London World about David Moyes and his time at the London Stadium, the former BBC African Player of the Year revealed his thoughts on Antonio.

The pair played together briefly before the Ghanaian returned to Swansea City during Moyes’ first reign at the club.

However, the 31-year-old believes that Antonio was always destined for the top.

He said: “Michail has not had it that easy, but I’m glad he is getting all the reward his hard work deserves.

“He always had that ability to play well, take people on and go past two or three players.

“In training, you could easily see that there was something special, but what he’s done now is add something special, and that is the finishing.”

High praise from Ayew.

It is nice to hear that Antonio and Ayew remain in contact with each other despite the fact Ayew left a long time ago.

It is also nice to hear him praise Antonio so highly, and it appears as if he always knew that the 31-year-old could become something special.

Well, he has certainly become that, and he is now West Ham’s top Premier League goalscorer, which for a converted winger/full-back isn’t bad going, is it?

Ayew mentions the hard work that Antonio put in even back then, so it is nice to see that as he gets a little bit older, he has found his feet and appears to be getting the rewards for his effort.

He is struggling a little bit in front of goal at the moment, but there probably isn’t any reason for Irons fans to be concerned.

This is actually a great interview with Ayew, and we recommend any Irons fan to give it a read.

In other West Ham news, Moyes has provided an update Aaron Cresswell.
