West Ham are unlikely to pursue the signing of Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard, according to a recent report in Eurosport.

It is understood that the Hammers are pursuing the opposite kind of player and are not keen on big names.

This update comes after it was reported that they wanted to sign the Belgium international and that he was keen on making a return to the Premier League.

The report reads, “Plenty of big names will be linked with West Ham in the coming weeks but most should be taken with a pinch of salt.

“One name doing the rounds recently has been Eden Hazard yet some sources say he is pretty much the exact opposite of how they are trying to recruit right now.”

Don’t need him

The Hammers can certainly do without someone like Hazard as he is no longer the player he was at Chelsea.

He was a phenomenon in the Premier League and was expected to be a Galactico-esque signing for them.

However, things did not work out as planned and he’s now being shipped with a move to a club that does not even play in the Champions League.

Even if he would’ve been a good addition to this side, there’s no chance that West Ham would be able to match his wages.

Back in 2019, he was labelled “magnificent” on Chelsea’s official website, but few would use that word to label him now.

A move to a league like the Serie A or maybe Bundesliga would be ideal for him where he’ll have an easier time than the Premier League.
