West Ham have informed the representatives of Basel striker Arthur Cabral of their intention to table a formal bid, according to Goal Brasil.

The Hammers are planning on doing that before January 6, and the Swiss club want around £12.3million (€15million) for the signature of the 23-year-old Brazilian.

Cabral want around £2million in wages per season to agree to a move, and West Ham are already aware of his demands, with the striker’s party now looking to work things out so that he can move to the Premier League outfit before the end of the winter transfer window.

The Irons have to bolster their attacking ranks for the second half of 2021-22, and the South American could be the ideal candidate for the job.

He has bagged 27 goals and weighed in with eight assists across all competitions so far this term, and he will be keen to prove himself in the Premier League should a move work out this transfer window.

Cabral is also on the radar of Barcelona and Newcastle United, so West Ham will need to make a move as soon as possible to boost their chances of landing him.

He scored 18 goals and made four others in 39 games in his first season in Switzerland before following that up with 20 goals and three assists last term.

West Ham need someone who can give Michail Antonio a run for his money, and the versatile Cabral can also play on the wings and behind the striker.

With Said Benrahma off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria, David Moyes needs a cover, and the Brazilian could be the answer.
