Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard to sign him in January, amid West Ham links.

According to Football London, the two London rivals are keen on signing the 29-year-old, but Spurs appear to have made the first move.

Forget about him

Despite enjoying success at West Ham last season, it’s strange to see Lingard not pursuing a permanent move to work with Moyes again.

It’s due to his performances for the Hammers that he was in contention to play for Gareth Southgate’s England team at the EUROs.

Despite not making the final squad, he’s still rated highly by him and that’s because of his goals and assists tally last season.

Lingard is still well-liked by the Hammers fans, but they will be fuming if he ends up joining Spurs.

Being part of the club for half a season, Lingard would know how much hatred there is between the two sides.

It remains to be seen what he decides to do and whether Manchester United actually allow him to leave.
