Jonathan David would be a very good signing for West Ham in January.

According to reports from Calciomercato, the Lille forward likes West Ham. He was linked in the summer of 2020 with the Hammers when he was at Genk, but he moved to the French club instead.

The 21-year-old is a highly-talented forward and the Hammers should look to lure him to the London club.

It is an open secret that the Hammers need to sign a striker
in January.

Michail Antonio has struggled in recent games, and the
Hammers do not have enough back-up options for him, if at all.

With West Ham challenging for the top four, this is one area that Moyes needs to bolster. They have been linked with a move for Jesse Lingard of Manchester United, but David would be a better option.

He is a versatile player who can play as a striker as well
as an attacking midfielder. The North American has been in scintillating form
this season, scoring 14 goals in 25 games across all competitions.

Last season, he scored 13 goals and provided two assists in
37 games in Ligue 1.

His goal scoring record proves that he would be a fantastic option
for the Hammers.

His best years are yet to come, and it would be wise to make a long-term investment at the moment. The Hammers previously wanted him, and Moyes should rekindle that interest in January.

Finance could be an issue here, but the Hammers must make an attempt to check whether a deal can be struck.

In other West Ham news, the club have made an approach to sign a ‘Terrific’ international ace and a January move is on the cards
