West Ham could suffer a big blow in the race to sign Adam Traore from Wolves this month.

According to latest reports from The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a fresh move for the Spanish speedy winger.

The report claims that Spurs are preparing an offer for Traore in a deal that would see Matt Doherty return to his former club.

Spurs failed in their attempt to sign the “unplayable” winger during the summer. He is valued at around £20million.

Earlier this month, The Telegraph reported that West Ham are also interested in singing Traore, but it seems Spurs are making their first move here.

The Hammers need to bolster their forward department in the
January window and signing a striker is a priority for them.

Traore has improved a lot in recent years while his wealth of Premier League experience would have come in handy.

But, the Hammers are probably looking at a different profile.

David
Moyes to be an admirer of Traore, and it remains to be seen if the
Hammers make a formal bid and go head-to-head with Spurs for his signature.

Traore is yet to open his scoring account this season, while he hasn’t provided an assist either. The Hammers must turn their attention elsewhere, with better players still available in the market.
