West Ham have been handed a fitness boost for the Burnley clash on Sunday (December 12) with Aaron Cresswell expected back in action.

That’s according to Claret and Hugh, who claim that the Englishman is recovering well from his back injury.

He returned to training ahead of the Chelsea clash, but could play no part in that game.

However, he is expected to return to the side next weekend.

Some good news

Seeing Kurt Zouma and Ben Johnson picking up injuries in the Chelsea win would have given nightmares to most Hammers fans.

With Angelo Ogbonna out for the season and Cresswell injured as well, this meant that they would currently have four defenders ruled out of action.

Seeing Cresswell making quick strides towards his recovery is welcome news for the Hammers and David Moyes will be delighted.

The 31-year-old has been a regular in his side this season and has been his preferred option over Arthur Masuaku and Johnson.

There is still no concrete update on Johnson or Zouma, but even if they’re both not out for long, it is important that a defender is signed in January.

Ogbonna is unlikely to feature again unless he signs an extension and Issa Diop has proven to be extremely unreliable at the back.

In other West Ham news, an attacker the Hammers want to sign has been left out of the matchday squad, potential January move seems to be on the cards
