West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna will undergo a knee scan today (Monday) after picking up an injury against Liverpool, according to Claret and Hugh.

The 33-year-old was subbed off in the first half for Craig Dawson and it appeared to be a twisted knee.

The Hammers went on to win the game 3-2, but there still will be concerns about the defender’s fitness.

Hope it’s not too serious

Ogbonna’s absence will be a huge blow for West Ham and it’s not something they can afford as of now.

Everything seems to be going right for David Moyes and the last thing he would want is for one of his regulars to go missing.

There’s nothing evident yet and hopefully, the scans would tell us how long he will be out of action.

Thankfully, there’s an international break so he will have the extra week to recuperate and get back to training and possibly starting the next game.

Issa Diop and Dawson may be decent understudies but they’re not as good as the Italian and he needs to play alongside Kurt Zouma.

The two have formed a terrific understanding at the heart of the West Ham defence and long may that continue.

Regardless of whether Ogbonna stays beyond this season, a new centre-back must be signed in the summer.
