West Ham make first offer of £12.5million for Clermont  striker Mohamed Bayo, according to Le 10 Sport’s Alexis Bernard.

Despite the enticing offer, the French outfit see his value at nearer €20million. Thus, there is still some work to do before this one gets over the line. However, the signs are more promising than a deal for Hugo Ekitike.

Revelaed on his personal Twitter account Bernard said:

“Besides Ekitike, West Ham is on Bayo (Clermont). First offer at €15m (£12.5m). Clermont wants €20m (£16.6m). More within reach of the English club as it stands”.

Even those options though, won’t come cheap, with The Express stating that Diaz could set the Hammers back £25million, and The Daily Mail report that Calvert-Lewin could cost £60million since he is in so much demand. This means that when it comes to value for money, Bayo is a much better fit.

If Mohamed Bayo at only 23 years of age, can fulfil even part of the record of Suarez, then his price of just over £16.5million would be a prudent and lucrative investment.

Bayo, has a good record which should give Hammers fans some confidence, this includes:

The signs are good, and Moyes needs to press the activate button if West Ham are to continue their top four challenge…decisive action is needed!
