West Ham have no intention of selling Declan Rice and want to build their team around him, according to a new report.
The Sun claim that the Hammers see Rice as the jewel in their crown and would even reject bids of over £100million, and they now believe that they can satisfy the 22-year-old’s ambitions.
Rice has rejected two contracts to remain at the London Stadium, but contract talks are ongoing with neither the player nor the club that bothered about sorting out a deal quickly.
Big news for the Irons.
Rice has been almost constantly linked with a move away from the London Stadium for a long time.
However, none of the linked sides have ever bid, and with the Irons sitting in third place and in the Europa League, why would he want to go anywhere?
Rice has also changed his game this season and seems to be much more of a box-to-box type midfielder and not someone who is going to just sit in and break up play.
He still does that, as can be seen by his 2.7 tackles and 1.9 interceptions per game in the Premier League, but his three goals and three assists, show that he is growing and developing as a player [WhoScored].
The future looks very exciting for a player described as “outstanding” by Gareth Southgate, and it would be fantastic if he could remain at the London Stadium [West Ham website].
You would expect there is going to be a lot of interest in Rice next summer, but if the Hammers earn Champions League football, hopefully, that would be enough to keep him.
