West Ham will open talks early with Jesse Lingard to prise him away from Manchester United, according to ExWHUemployee.
The England international opted to stay at Old Trafford this summer, but has found game time hard to come by.
He’s now believed to be keen on a move to the London Stadium and the Hammers are expected to commence negotiations to sign him in January.
On his Patreon channel, Ex wrote, “I believe talks will start early with Lingard who is still expected to want to move. There will be competition for him and also a number of things to sort out with his deal.”
Get him home
Lingard, who has been labelled as “sensational” by Nigel Winterburn [The Sun], was one of the sole reasons why the Hammers finished in the top six last season.
Initially, when he arrived on loan in January, many questioned David Moyes’ intentions at bringing a player whose best days appeared to be behind him.
He had almost become a laughing stock at Man United and many expected him to feature sparingly at West Ham.
However, not only was he thrown straight into the mix by Moyes, he became one of the club’s most important players.
The 28-year-old started scoring and setting up goals for fun at the club and within weeks became a fan favourite at the London Stadium.
Supporters would certainly love more of the same from him this January as well and it remains to be seen if the club can actually pull this one over the line.
