West Ham are leading the chase to bring Real Madrid attacker back to the Premier League, according to the Sunday Mirror (05/12/2021, pg 70).

The Hammers have been linked with many attacking players over the past few months and the 30-year-old is also understood to be on their shortlist.

He has failed to settle in Madrid and is angling for a move back to the Premier League.

Too expensive?

The Belgian is still one of the most expensive players in the history of the sport so any deal involving him is not going to be cheap.

Even if Real want to cash in on him, he would demand a high salary which may put him beyond West Ham’s reach.

He is also not the same players he was back at Chelsea and there remains a shadow of a doubt as to whether or not he’ll be able to succeed on his second-coming.

What the Hammers need is a striker who leads the line and is able to draw defenders out of position with his quick movement.

Given how David Moyes sets his side up to play, he would want him to be good in the air as well.

Hazard, who has been labelled “breathtaking“, certainly is not capable to lead the line and prefers to play off the left and be in control of possession for the majority of the game.

Stylistically, he’s not the right fit and we do not see this happening.
