Jesse Lingard is ready to leave Manchester United and move to West Ham this January window, according to the Daily Mirror.

The England international attacking midfielder, 29, has grown frustrated with Ralf Rangnick after failing to start a Premier League game this term, and he wants to leave right away.

While Lingard will be available for free at the end of 2021-22, the Hammers are hoping to strike a deal for a cut-price fee this month, and the Red Devils could be left with no choice than to sell him.

Finally?

West Ham fans are surely tired of hearing about Lingard potentially returning to the London Stadium after he opted not to last summer following his successful loan spell.

He decided to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford, and that has not gone well.

The Hammers remain keen admirers of the attacker, though, with first-team coach Stuart Pearce revealing back in August on talkSPORT that the club would love to have the “special” player back.

It appears the feeling is mutual, and both parties should be able to sort things out as soon as possible.

With Said Benrahma at the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria, David Moyes needs to equip his attack, and bringing Lingard back would be huge.

“We’d like him to come & join us, that’s been an open secret.”

“He’s a special lad, the players really like him & his ability shone.”

“At the moment it looks like he’s vying for a place in the Man Utd team.”

He has not been able to impress a lot this season due to his limited playing chances, but he proved himself during the second half of 2020-21, and a return to West Ham should help get his career back on track again.

Fans will be hoping a move finally works out, and the fact that the club are ready to pay for him now as opposed to waiting to land him for nothing in the summer speaks volumes.
