West Ham are weighing up a move for FC Copenhagen centre-forward Jonas Wind, according to the Evening Standard‘s Jack Rosser.

Wind, 22, is being eyed by the Irons with a striker high on their January shopping list.

The Denmark international is “one option being looked at”, as per Rosser’s personal Twitter profile.

Also mentioned in here – it’s almost a year since Haller was sold and Moyes is yet to settle on a suitable replacement.

Powerful and prolific

Wind doesn’t turn 23 until February, but while he has only played league football in Denmark, he has picked up significant experience in European competitions and with his national team.

He has scored nine goals in 20 European appearances, including four this season, while he has scored four goals in 12 caps for Denmark and was called up for the European Championship during the summer.

Standing at 6ft 3in, Wind possesses the physical attributes to thrive in the Premier League and has been dubbed the ‘new Erling Haaland’ [Breaking The Lines].

West Ham are still yet to replace Sebastien Haller after the Ivory Coast forward was sold to Ajax during the January transfer window.

Michail Antonio has led the line superbly but with the Irons through to the knockout stage of the Europa League and still in the League Cup, the games are mounting up and more pressure is being thrust onto the 31-year-old.

Antonio has only scored one goal in his last eight appearances for the Hammers, and more competition could help to bring out the best in the Jamaica international.

In other West Ham news, Jamie Carragher sent a one-word tweet to this Irons star after what he saw this week.
